Public Records

"Public Records" means records about people which are known to be available in Public Record Offices, the Family Records Centre or any other Record Office or Archive and because of age, may reasonably be assumed to be, no longer alive; or are still alive but have specifically given permission for the record to be published. Unless known to the contrary, It has been assumed that anyone born more than 100 years ago is no longer living.

The following types of record, are considered, to be publishable:

Anything published more than 100 years ago.
Anything published more than 100 years ago that could name only people who would be today over 100.
Marriages which took place more than 80 years ago.
Burials and deaths from more than 80 years ago excepting my own direct line.
Baptisms and births from more than 100 years ago.
Census extracts from more than 100 years ago.
Any other record where it would be most exceptional for anyone named still to be alive.

For example, it would be most exceptional if any person named in an 80-year-old trades directory (and who therefore would almost certainly have been an adult at that time) were still alive.

Any other record for which everyone named has given permission for publication.

Where permission needs to be obtained in order to publish, that permission has been sought and granted wherever possible. Acknowledgements have been placed where applicable, if you see a picture on this website that belongs to you or information that you feel is rightly yours that is not acknowledged as such and it has been published without the owners consent please inform me as soon as possible.
